The architecture utilises a range of complementary brick and pop-out windows and internal balconies to provide a rhythm to the facades which is mirrored by the strong gable end character of the roofline which responds to the surrounding townscape. The scheme has been used as an exemplar of good urban design intensification within the Runnymede Design SPD, citing its architectural detailing and design quality.
The development benefits from on-site car parking for 31 vehicles, beneath a private amenity space accessible by all units. The scheme has an all-electric heating solution to benefit from increasing use of off-site renewables, and green walls and peripheral planting are used to increase the biodiversity net gain.
The site is adjacent to Addlestone rail station which is 50 minutes into Central London. We have therefore been pushing the boundaries of previous developments to appeal to new residents who will commute into the city.
