Inspired Villages received positive planning news this month as Solihull Council approved a resolution to grant planning permission on a new residential development in Knowle, paving the way for 170 new, extra care homes for over 65s.
Working with 3DReid, the new village was designed with sustainability at its core and will offer residents a modern, connected environment while contributing to a greener future.
The development will feature a mix of 170 modern one- and two-bedroom apartments and bungalows, all developed with a view to achieving their goal of being a net zero carbon-regulated energy retirement village.
Each home will benefit from the latest energy-efficient technology, smart home features, and low-carbon building materials, ensuring reduced environmental impact while providing the comfort and convenience of modern living.
Key Features of the Knowle Development:
- Energy-Efficient Homes: All homes will feature advanced insulation, renewable energy solutions such as solar panels, and energy-efficient appliances, designed to minimise energy consumption and reduce carbon footprints.
- Green Spaces and Landscaping: The development will include beautifully landscaped gardens and green spaces, designed to encourage outdoor activity and provide members of the community and residents, areas to relax and connect with nature.
- Smart, Low-Carbon Technology: Each home will be equipped with smart home technology that allows residents to monitor and control energy use, ensuring maximum efficiency and sustainability.
- Sustainable Transport Options: The development will offer electric vehicle charging points and convenient access to local transport links, promoting green travel options for residents.
- Community Wellbeing Hub: A focus on residents’ well-being, with a wellness centre, fitness studio, and social spaces, all designed to support an active and healthy lifestyle in a sustainable environment.
