On behalf of Goodstone Living, 3DReid has secured detailed planning consent for an enhanced residential development at Ocean Drive in Leith Docks, Edinburgh.
Building upon an earlier consent gained by the team, this scheme introduces thirty-five additional high-quality homes for private rent, ten of which are affordable rent homes and a developed elevational treatment for the taller element.
In response to Goodstone’s strong environmental objectives and our own practice demands to deliver sustainable communities, the development includes a number of environmental benefits such as tram, cycle and pedestrian emphasis over vehicle use; a significantly expanded landscape and public realm area along the promenade, repurposing space previously allocated for car parking, and array of photovoltaic panels to reduce in-use operational carbon and benefit from renewable energy.
The development also features shared amenity spaces such as rooftop gardens and commercial areas. The 3DReid team drew from its studios in Edinburgh, Birmingham and London and played a key role in providing full design services for the entire development of 373 apartments which is currently under construction.
