As part of its commitment to sustainable design, 3DReid Architects has recently supported two practice members in qualifying as Passivhaus Certified Designers. Pei Lee is based in 3DReid’s Glasgow studio and recently passed her exam after completing the BRE / Strathclyde course. Charlie Whitaker is based in London and passed the Passivhaus exam earlier this year after studying with Coaction. Charlie leads the practice’s sustainability group. They join Kiran Shah, also in London and already Passivhaus qualified.
Passivhaus represents a tested route to high performance low energy design in support of ‘net zero’ carbon. Its principles can be applied in all sectors, and transfer effectively even where a project is not seeking certification. 3DReid’s in-house environmental processes, informed by Passivhaus, apply low energy principles throughout each of the practice’s projects. Our processes are ISO 14001 certified and independently audited.
If you would be interested in finding out more about how Passivhaus can add value to your projects, please get in touch. We’d love to help.
We are delighted to see our practice members develop their potential and we look forward to the opportunity to put our new skills into action!
