It’s a hat-trick! 3DReid won three awards at the Scottish Design Awards 2019.
3DReid is absolutely delighted to be awarded three Scottish Design Awards. It’s fantastic to see one of the smallest and most modest projects that we’ve done hold its own against the wealth of other great design work that was on display and buildings of significant public profile. As well as winning the ‘Low Cost Project Under 200k’ category Avonbridge United Reformed Church took the overall ‘Chairman’s Award for Architecture’, while our Thistle Garden Rooms scheme was winner of the ‘Future Building’ category.
3DReid interiors team was also Highly Commended in the ‘Interior Design’ category for Hotel Indigo Manchester. Well done to our team and to our fantastic clients and consultants, on all projects.
Avonbridge United Reformed Church wins Chairman’s Award for Architecture
The chair’s award for architecture was presented by Karen Anderson of Anderson Bell Christie to 3DReid’s Ruta Turcinaviciute and Ryan Hodge for the modest yet perfectly formed Avonbridge United Reformed Church. Our team is very proud that a modest project with strong community ambition has been recognised in such a way. It is testament to the vision & drive of the Rev Leslie Morrison of United Reformed Church, a joy to work with him over the past six years.

Avonbridge United Reformed Church wins Low Cost Project Under 200k
3DReid is delighted to win the award for Low Cost Project Under 200k. The remodelling of Avonbridge United Reformed Church involved crafting a flexible interior capable of accommodating both worship and a programme of community outreach, demonstrating how best to bring the facilities up to current standards, whilst operating within the limit of a very tight budget. With a strong presence in its community, Avonbridge United Reformed Church provides a series of key initiatives, from a Credit Union, to a Lunch Club, for the residents of the small village, outside Falkirk.

Thistle Garden Rooms wins Future Building Project
Thistle Garden Rooms scheme won the ‘Future Building’ category for the new-build community-centred building in the heart of Craigmillar in Edinburgh, on behalf of Thistle, the leading Edinburgh based health and wellbeing charity. The new ‘Garden Rooms’ will be located adjacent to Thistle’s award-winning Centre of Wellbeing – a previous collaboration between Thistle and 3DReid.

Hotel Indigo Manchester Highly Commended for Interior Design
3DReid interiors team was Highly Commended in the ‘Interior Design’ category for Hotel Indigo Manchester which embraces a fusion of two very different types of building – the historic existing Grade II listed City Buildings connected at each level to the new build 14 storey extension. The interior design sought to connect these two buildings by neither being traditional nor contemporary and there is a seamless flow between them.

Judges comments about the overall standard of entries for 2019:
‘I was impressed with the standard of entries this year and it was really heartening to see in particular the high number of good projects in the educational category. This bodes well for the experience and learning of the next generation. In the regeneration, and in other, categories it was heartening to see some really strong entries that creatively re-used existing buildings. This is vital in the future of architectural practice for sustainability and for the quality and coherence of our towns and cities.’ Karen Anderson, Founding Partner, Anderson Bell Christie.
