Comprehensive refurbishment and remodelling of 98 luxury serviced apartments at Cheval Gloucester Park in Knightsbridge.

Extensive refurbishment throughout this early 90’s building to improve the flow and functions of the inefficient back of house spaces and facilities. As well as lead architect we developed the interior design strategy to deliver a high quality luxury offer in line with the Cheval brand and reposition Cheval Gloucester Park.

The remodelling of the ground floor and basement enabled the creation of a Cinema Room and larger Gym as well as feature ‘Library’ lounge spaces in the east and west wings for guests to meet and relax in, providing a sense of ‘home from home’, separated from the main circulation corridors.

We increased the servicing and efficiency of the building by relocating the majority of the back of house facilities to the basement, extending the lifts and new service entry.

The apartments were stripped back to shell with all services upgraded, including new lighting schemes and AV systems to the three penthouse apartments on the top 3 levels of the building.

The façade of the 12-storey building was also refreshed with new fenestration throughout and enhancements to the balconies. A new welcoming main entrance lobby, together with the external refurbishment of the driveway, hardscaping and lighting, completed the overall reinvention of the property.

 

Rethinking the spatial organisation of all the back of house functions with the excavation and extension of the lifts to serve the basement level, plus addition of a new service entry point and goods lift located to adjacent shared service bay area, allowed us to relocate and provide discreet operational areas creating a more generous reception and front of house experience at ground floor level, the ambience of which was carried through into the apartment levels above.

A new welcoming main entrance, together with the external refurbishment of the driveway, hardscaping and lighting, completed the overall reinvention of the property.
